Where Winds Meet has incredibly complex systems. The game throws a lot of information at you right from the start, and just when you begin to understand everything, it introduces even more mechanics to learn.
You might recognize Divinecraft, as you get a brief introduction to it earlier in the game. However, that’s just a preview. Here’s a complete guide to help you fully utilize the Divinecraft system.
What Is Divinecraft?

Early in the game, you’ll gain access to the Divinecraft system, which lets you use special items to temporarily boost your weapons. These items have their own section in your quick-slots, labeled ‘Divinecraft’.
There are three Divinecraft items:
- Fire – Can cause burning and additional HP damage.
- Water – Can cause stagnation, additional HP damage, and extra Resilience damage. Also has a chance of penetrating shields.
- Poison – Can cause poisoning, additional HP damage, and extra Qi Damage. Can also quickly break through Qi Lock.
Fire deals nearly twice the health damage compared to other Divinecraft items, even though it has fewer extra effects. In battle, Fire’s damage and effects combine with your weapon’s, and you can use as many Fire items as you need – unlike healing items, there’s no limit.
The Divinecraft system, found in the Develop menu’s Gear section, lets you focus on one of three elements to gain extra advantages. Prioritizing an element boosts its effects and can even unlock new ones. Here’s a breakdown of the current upgrades available for each element:
- Fire – Consecutive attacks trigger an explosion, and the duration of the effect is increased by 10 seconds
- Water – Increase your own Interruption resistance for extra hyper armour, and the duration of the effect is increased by 10 seconds.
- Poison – Executions deal damage a second time while the effect is active, and the duration of the effect is increased by 10 seconds.
Just remember that these effects will only be active for the selected Divinecraft in the Gear menu.
When Do You Unlock Divinecraft?
You’ll unlock special elemental enhancements for your weapons pretty early in the game. You’ll start with Fire, then get Water, and finally Poison. These enhancements aren’t made – you find them by exploring the world. Look for things like fire sources, specific flowers, and mushrooms to restock them.
You unlock the complete Divinecraft upgrade system at level 56. To reach level 56, you first need to get to Solo Mode level seven. Once you’ve advanced, the Divinecraft system will appear the next time you check your Gear.
How To Upgrade Divinecraft
Divinecraft is a fantastic system because it encourages players to utilize status effects, and it lets you improve those effects, making them stronger and even more worthwhile.
Improving these items, though, needs materials you can’t find until you’ve first unlocked the Divinecraft system. Each Divinecraft requires a specific upgrade material, and here’s what those are:
- Fire Grease
- Water Wax
- Toxic Essence
These all have different levels, ranging from one to three, and each level unlocks with a certain amount of experience. Unlike some other systems, Divinecraft doesn’t use items for upgrades—you level up by earning experience points. For instance, reaching level two in Divinecraft requires 10,000 EXP.
Upgrading with level one materials gives you 500 experience points, and level three materials give you 2,000. You only need a total of 10,000 experience points to level up, and you can use any combination of materials to reach that goal. Plus, you don’t have to collect all 10,000 points at once – you can upgrade as you earn them.
As a big fan of Divinecraft, I’ve figured out where to get the upgrade materials! It’s actually pretty clever – you find them in the same places as the basic materials for each craft. For example, if you need Fire Grease, check around fire sources like braziers. Water Wax comes from flowers – Peonies are a good spot – and you can get Toxic Essence from mushrooms. Just a heads-up, the level of the material you find is random, so it takes a little time and luck to get what you need.
Each Divinecraft has bonus effects that need to be unlocked separately. Unlocking them works like standard upgrades – you provide the specific materials requested, but instead of using experience points. These bonus effects also have level requirements; you’ll need to reach level three and level five in the upgrade tree to unlock them.
