Pathea Games, known for the relaxing game My Time at Portia, recently shared a seven-minute video showcasing their new game, The God Slayer. This steampunk game, inspired by Eastern culture, is designed to appeal to martial arts enthusiasts with its special skills that let players defeat tough enemies and challenging bosses.

Hey, if you’re like me and hyped for the next update to Where Winds Meet, or you’re just a fan of those awesome wuxia martial arts games, I’ve got you covered. I put together a guide with everything you need to know about The God Slayer – what it’s all about and what to expect when it finally drops!

Platforms

The God Slayer is coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Is there a release date?

Currently, a release date for God Slayer hasn’t been announced. The game’s Steam page simply says it’s “to be announced.”

Story

In the world of God Slayer, humans were created by gods to generate a unique energy that would flow back to the heavens when they died. But when some humans discovered how to use this energy for their own power – becoming known as Elemancers – the gods retaliated with immense destruction.

I’m really excited to play as Cheng, an Elemancer with a powerful story – he’s on a quest to avenge his family by taking on the gods themselves! The game lets me become this legendary figure, basically a ‘God Slayer’, and it sounds incredible.

Gameplay

The gameplay trailer shows players battling enemies with impressive, martial arts-style moves and elemental powers. The main character, Cheng, fights using fire, water, earth, and more – he can punch with flames, freeze enemies after soaking them with water, throw rocks ripped from the ground, and even create stone walls for defense during combat.

Okay, so most of the fighting is hands-on, which is awesome. But you can also pick up weapons from enemies you take down – I’m talking everything from basic stuff to this huge hammer that just sends guys flying! It’s super satisfying.

Advancement in the game focuses on becoming proficient with qi, learning new abilities from scrolls and teachers, and making Cheng powerful enough to face the powerful Celestials.
