Octopath Traveler 0: How to attack from the back row

Unlike the previous Octopath Traveler games, Octopath Traveler II lets you control a party of eight characters in battle. These characters are arranged in pairs – one in the front and one in the back. During a pair’s turn, you can switch their positions at any time. While the back row is generally safer and allows a character to conserve energy, some special abilities actually work better when used from the back. For example, skills like “Reckless Strike Mastery” or “Windblast Mastery” might gain extra benefits if performed from the back row. But how does that system actually function?

Actually, you can’t attack or use skills while positioned in the back row. This makes some skill descriptions a little misleading. Skills that mention the back row should really say they’re more powerful if the character began their turn there.
