Fans were pleasantly surprised when FromSoftware developed a cooperative mode for Elden Ring. Thankfully, this experiment, known as Elden Ring Nightreign, has proven to be a hit. After a rocky start, updates were released, a two-player option was added, and new challenges were introduced. This co-op version of Elden Ring continues to evolve, and recently received a new content update called The Forsaken Hollows. However, some players are reporting issues with the update – it isn’t working as expected. We’ll explain what’s happening and how to fix it.
How to fix Elden Ring Nightreign The Forsaken Hollows DLC
Although Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is more well-known, Elden Ring: Nightreign has gained a dedicated following. It’s been so successful that new downloadable content, called The Forsaken Hollows, was recently released. However, some players are reporting that the DLC isn’t working – it doesn’t seem to activate, as if it hasn’t been purchased. This has left fans wondering what’s going on.
If you’re having trouble, it’s likely because you purchased a Deluxe, Collector’s, or Seeker’s Edition, or pre-ordered the Deluxe Upgrade pack. This mainly affects players on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, or Xbox, as the downloadable content (DLC) needs to be downloaded separately. Luckily, the process is quite simple.
PlayStation:
- Open PlayStation Store,
- Search for “Elden Ring Nightreign”,
- Locate the “Elden Ring Nightreign The Forsaken Hollows” DLC and select it,
- Proceed with downloading the content.
Xbox:
You can use the option directly below the “Elden Ring Nightreign” icon.
Alternatively:
- In “My Games & Apps” section of Xbox, hover over “Elden Ring Nightreign” entry and press the Menu button,
- From the available options, choose “Manage Games & Add-ons”,
- From the list of possible Add-Ons, mark the checkbox next to “Elden Ring Nightreign The Forsaken Hollows” and proceed with the installation.
Steam players generally shouldn’t have any issues with the expansion installing automatically, as the update should download and apply itself.
