In the expansive world of Where Winds Meet, Dragon Keys are rare and special items that unlock new ways to play. There aren’t many of them, but collecting them all is essential to learn every Weapon Martial Art in the game.
Even though there are a lot of Dragon Keys to find, it can be really difficult without knowing where to search. This guide will help you quickly locate every Dragon Key in Genshin Impact‘s “Where Winds Meet” area, and show you where to use them.
What Are Dragon Keys?

Okay, so in Where Winds Meet, there are these things called Dragon Keys. Basically, they let me sneak into missions where I can steal skills from other martial arts schools – the ones I didn’t choose when I started the game. It’s how I learn new, powerful moves that are usually locked to specific groups!
These missions require you to infiltrate each enemy base undetected, find their leader, and watch them demonstrate their unique fighting style so you can learn it. To begin each mission, you’ll need a Dragon Key to unlock the secret entrance – you’ll need five keys total to learn all the fighting styles if you don’t already belong to those groups.
All Dragon Key Locations In Where Winds Meet
As of right now, there are five ways to find Dragon Keys in Where Winds Meet: you can earn one by completing a Breakthrough, one by finishing a quest, and three by defeating enemies at certain outposts.
Breakthrough Reward
You’ll probably get your first Dragon Key by reaching Level 2 in Solo Mode, called ‘Emerging’. This becomes possible when your character in Solo Mode hits Level 15.
If you’re still below Level 15 in Solo Mode, keep gaining experience by exploring the game world and finishing side quests. Also, don’t miss the limited-time Pardon Parade events – they’re a quick and easy way to earn extra experience.
Skill Effort: Unearned Lesson Quest Location
Players can easily find the second Dragon Key at Where Winds Meet by completing the side quest, “Skill Theft: Unearned Lesson.” This quest begins by finding and speaking with Qiu Yuehai, who is located southeast of the Moonveil Peak Boundary Stone on Moonveil Mountain in the southwestern part of the Qinghe region.
This simple task requires you to discreetly watch Gu Le, Qiu Yuehai’s teacher, from hiding to learn the Mystic Skill, Veil of Stillness.
This task usually takes just two or three minutes, and it’s a helpful way to practice learning Weapon Martial Arts from the Sect masters. It utilizes the same timing-based actions needed to master the Veil of Stillness technique.
All Outpost Dragon Key Locations
Where Winds Meet features many enemy camps to conquer, but only three of them will reward you with a Dragon Key upon first completion. These key locations are Bloomveil Monastery, Gourmand’s Grove, and Tiger Fort.
As a player, I recently discovered Bloomveil Monastery! It’s a bit tricky to find – it’s northeast of the Qinghe region, but if you’re coming from the Wayfarer in the north, head southeast. Once inside, you’ll have to battle 12 rogue monks. It’s a tough fight, but totally worth it because you get the Dragon Key as a reward!
Gourmand’s Grove is located northeast of Qinghe and southeast of Wayfarer. To get the Dragon Key this time, you’ll need to defeat enemies from Buddha Fort.
Tiger Fort and its Dragon Key are located a bit further afield in Where Winds Meet, specifically in the southern part of Qinghe, southwest of Moonveil Mountain. To take control of it, you’ll need to defeat 12 bandits from the Greenwood Brotherhood.
Before clearing an outpost, you can preview its rewards. Simply select the outpost on your map and scroll down to the rewards section at the bottom of the description. Then, click ‘View Details’ to learn more about each reward and where to find additional information.
How To Use Dragon Keys & All Hidden Weapon Martial Arts Locations
In Where Winds Meet, Dragon Keys allow you to unlock hidden entrances to Sect bases and attempt a Skill Theft Infiltration mission. You can steal skills from the following Martial Arts: Heavenquaker Spear, Infernal Twinblades, Inkwell Fan, Panacea Fan, and Strategic Sword. Each of these Sects has the same type of entrance – stone pillars that look like basins.
Okay, so I finally figured out how to get into the Midnight Mercy Sanctum! It’s southwest of Verdant Wilds, which was a little tricky to find. Once you’re there, you need the Dragon Key to get inside. Apparently, that’s where you can learn the Infernal Twinblades Martial Art, and I’m super excited to try it out!
You can find the Inkwell Fan Martial Art by stealing it from the Inkwell Fan Sanctum. This sanctum is located in northern Qinghe, well-hidden on a cliff overlooking the ocean, east of the Floral Expanse Beyond.
You can find the Silver Needle Sanctum in Where Winds Meet by using a Dragon Key. Inside, you’ll learn the Pancea Fan Martial Art. The sanctum is hidden east of Bamboo Abode (in east Qinghe) and northwest of the nearby archery competition on the map.
Okay, so I was exploring southern Qinghe, kinda between the Palace of Annais to the southeast and Circling Lake to the northeast, and I finally found it – the entrance to the Strategic Sword Sanctum! Inside, I unlocked the Strategic Sword Martial Art. It was a bit of a trek, but totally worth it!
You can find the entrance to the Master in Heavenquaker Spear Sanctum – and learn the Heavenquaker Spear Martial Art – in Northeast Qinghe, particularly northeast of General’s Shrine.
You can also learn a Sect’s unique fighting style by becoming a member, so only use a Dragon Key if you don’t intend to join a Sect. Each Sect has its own rules and requirements for joining, so Dragon Keys are a great way to quickly get their fighting style without the extra effort.
If you’re detected during a Skill Theft Infiltration mission in these areas, you immediately fail and are sent back to the beginning or your last saved point. Because of this, you can’t simply defeat enemies with normal attacks.
It’s best to finish the “Echoes Of Old Battles” side mission before attempting the Skill Theft Infiltration missions. Completing “Echoes Of Old Battles” unlocks the Touch of Death Mystic Art, a powerful instant-kill stealth attack that will significantly help you navigate the sanctums.
