An upcoming episode of Fire Country will feature a surprise visit from Sharon Leone’s mother. The show’s fourth season has followed the aftermath of the death of Sharon’s husband, Chief Vince Leone, and these new images offer a sneak peek at what’s to come.
Family is central to the CBS drama, largely due to the actress having previously worked with both her late husband and son.
The seventh episode of Fire Country season 4, titled “Best Mom in the World,” will introduce Sharon’s mother, Ruby, played by Academy Award winner Christine Lahti. Sharon will be surprised by the unexpected arrival of a long-lost family member, and will have to confront difficult memories from her past. The episode will air on Friday, December 5th at 9 p.m. Eastern Time.
CBS has released the first photos of actress Lahti as her character, Ruby. The pictures show Ruby looking serious while holding a cloth inside Smokey’s Tavern.
The second image shows Sharon and her mother inside the bar. Sharon is looking up at her mother, who has her arms crossed, and they seem to be having a serious discussion – likely about difficult memories Sharon will face in this episode.
Take a look at the images below:

Later in the show, Sharon’s son, Body, and Jake are working together to help a struggling teen in a building that’s scheduled to be torn down.
Lahti received an Academy Award for directing the short film Lieberman in Love and was also nominated for an Oscar for her performance in Swing Shift.
She’s been a guest star on many popular TV shows throughout her career, including Frasier, Ally McBeal, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Hawaii Five-0, Grace and Frankie, The Blacklist, The Good Wife, and Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Vince and Bode aren’t the only family members Sharon has on Fire Country. Morena Baccarin played Sharon’s step-sister, Mickey Fox, in a couple of episodes, and W. Earl Brown appeared as her step-father, Wes Fox.
Both actors now appear in the Fire Country spin-off, Sheriff Country. The show centers on Mickey, the sheriff of Edgewater, as she tackles crime and family drama involving her father and daughter, Skye (played by Amanda Arcuri).
Some characters from Fire Country, like Sharon and Bode, appeared in early episodes of Sheriff Country, which first aired in mid-October.
Sharon is used to family conflicts, and things are about to get more complicated with her mother, Ruby, visiting in an upcoming episode of Fire Country.
Sharon is still deeply saddened by Vince’s death, and Ruby’s visit is likely to intensify her grief and worry. Hopefully, things will improve between them before they say goodbye.
Fire Country airs Fridays at 9 p.m. EST on CBS.
