Battlefield 6 recently received a quiet update that changes how player statistics are calculated. The game will no longer include bot kills in your score, but deaths caused by bots will still be recorded for the time being.
Battlefield Bulletin reported on November 18th that a recent game update was released to ensure player statistics are accurate and fair. As a result, you might notice a decrease in your kill-death ratio, which could indicate that many of your previously recorded kills were against computer-controlled bots.
Battlefield Studios has updated the game to ensure fair and accurate stats. Kills earned against bots will no longer be included in the K/D ratio displayed on your player profile.

Former professional gamer Otto “ottr” Boström noticed a significant change in his Battlefield 6 stats and shared it on X (formerly Twitter). He posted screenshots showing his kill count dropping from 88,838 with a 92.950 K/D ratio, to just 24,227 kills and a 3.814 K/D. Boström thinks this update will reveal how many players were using inaccurate stats.
Although kills from bots don’t affect your total kill count, Battlefield YouTuber DannyonPC pointed out in the Battlefield Bulletin’s comments that dying to a bot does count as a death. Battlefield Bulletin acknowledged this issue and said they plan to fix it at some point.
Battlefield Studios hasn’t officially addressed this specific change yet, but they did announce several other recent game updates on X (formerly Twitter) on November 19th. These include making defibrillators easier to hit with, extending the time before inactive players are kicked from Sabotage mode (from 60 to 180 seconds), temporarily pausing the replacement of players with bots in Sabotage, and improving the clarity of Assignments and Challenges so they’re easier to complete.
Battlefield Studios seems to be actively working to reduce the problem of bots being used to unfairly gain experience points in the game. Since the game launched on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on October 10th, players have noticed a lot of bot activity. Updates on October 21st and 22nd aimed to limit the number of bots in matches. However, lead producer David Sirland clarified on November 5th that bots are still important – they help fill games and get matches started. With the introduction of a more casual game mode in Battlefield 6, bots will likely remain in the game, though their role may become less significant.
Besides this quiet update, Battlefield Studios released a new game patch for both consoles and PC on November 18th. Called Update 1.1.2.0, it significantly improves aim-assist, making it feel more fluid and consistent.
