A woman in Arizona, who is 70 years old and fighting breast cancer, got a dream come true: she received floor tickets to see her favorite band, Nine Inch Nails, in concert.
Nine Inch Nails is an industrial rock band started by Trent Reznor in 1988. They’re famous for their intense, dark music, which combines the energy of rock and metal with electronic sounds. Albums like *The Downward Spiral* and *With Teeth* have received a lot of praise, and the band is widely considered a major force in alternative music.
The band’s current “Peel It Back Tour” was their first time performing in North America for three years, and fans traveled from all over to see their popular songs like “Closer” and “Hurt” live.
The Wish of a Lifetime for Carla
I recently heard about this amazing woman, Carla Well-Knight, who lives here in Mesa. Even though she’s battling advanced breast cancer, she’s always thinking of others! She’s been giving away walkers and wheelchairs she wasn’t using to people in her senior community who needed them. It’s just so thoughtful! Her caretaker was so impressed, they nominated her for AARP’s Wish of a Lifetime program – she totally deserves it!
She told ABC Arizona that she believes in a simple principle: the more you give to others, the more you’ll receive in return.
Carla was thrilled with the nomination, as it perfectly aligned with her love of heavy metal music. She’s a big fan of bands like Tool, A Perfect Circle, and Linkin Park, but Nine Inch Nails has always been her absolute favorite – she even got a tattoo of their logo to show her dedication.
I was so hyped when I scored floor seats to see Nine Inch Nails in Phoenix on September 16th, thanks to this awesome program! Being right there on the Footprint Center floor, just a few feet from Trent Reznor and the band during the Peel It Back Tour, was seriously a dream come true. It was exactly the experience I needed, and it felt like a total bucket-list moment.
