59-year-old Chinese streamer goes viral for besting world’s top Counter-Strike pros

A 59-year-old Chinese streamer, known as Auntie Juan, became an internet sensation after impressively defeating two professional Counter-Strike players.

Zhong Juanjuan didn’t start gaming until she was approaching 50. The pandemic prompted her to ask her son to teach her, and since then, she’s become a surprisingly skilled and intimidating player known online as ‘Auntie Juan,’ streaming her progress and quickly gaining a reputation as a formidable opponent.

She began learning by literally bumping into things, often walking with her eyes focused upwards, as she explained in a video by Sixth Tone reporter Lü Xiao. Now, she’s become so good that people online accuse her of using tricks or faking her abilities.

It’s been wild lately! People are saying all sorts of things about me – some think I’m using special effects to make me look younger, others believe I’m altering my voice. And the other day, someone actually asked if I was an AI! It’s pretty funny, honestly.

Auntie Juan gets kills over world’s best CS pros

Now 59 years old, she’s become a hugely popular streamer in China. She plays a variety of games, including GTA 5 and Elden Ring, but primarily streams Counter-Strike.

As of January 2026, Aunty Juan had already played Valve’s popular tactical shooter for an impressive 8,057 hours. Even more remarkable, she had only started playing video games a few years before that!

A surprising moment occurred when 66的娟姨 (Auntie Juan), a 59-year-old livestreamer from Guangdong province in China, achieved something remarkable. While playing a casual exhibition game, she skillfully eliminated an opponent with a single, precise shot – a feat often called a ‘one-tap’ – blurring the lines between amateur streaming and professional esports.

After gaining recognition for her Counter-Strike skills, she received an invitation to a fun exhibition match featuring well-known streamers and professional players. On the opposing team were rising star Donk, the world’s top-ranked CS player in 2024 at just 19 years old, and Sh1ro, a seasoned competitor with over $1 million in tournament winnings.

Aunty Juan became an instant sensation on Chinese social media after swiftly defeating two popular esports players in a stunning display of skill.

Okay, so it was just one round, but wow, seeing that Chinese streamer go toe-to-toe with the world’s best was incredible! What really blew me away was learning she hadn’t really gamed at all before – it’s amazing she’s gotten this good so quickly!
