As a huge true crime fan, I’m really looking forward to the new Netflix documentary, Sean Combs: The Reckoning! It’s a four-part series produced by 50 Cent and director Alexandria Stapleton, and it’s coming out next month. Apparently, it’s packed with never-before-seen footage and interviews with people who know Sean Combs really well, and it’s coming out pretty soon after that shocking trial finished in October. 50 Cent said he’s been focused on telling real stories for years with G-Unit Film and Television, and he’s thankful to everyone who shared their experiences. He also seems really pleased with how Alexandria Stapleton is bringing it all together.
Director Stapleton reflected on being a woman in the entertainment industry, especially during the #MeToo movement. Seeing high-profile figures face accusations and legal consequences, and then witnessing Cassie’s lawsuit against Sean Combs, led her to consider the many possible outcomes. She was impressed by Cassie’s courage to take on such a powerful figure and saw the case as a crucial test of whether society had truly changed in how it handles these kinds of allegations fairly. The documentary, consisting of four one-hour episodes, will be released on Netflix on December 2nd.
