Many critics applauded the film’s inventive approach. Brandon Benitez went so far as to call the sequel potentially the best in the series, enthusiastically stating it “absolutely rocks.” He particularly praised its dynamic camerawork and moving themes of faith, loneliness, hope, and amazement, saying he was captivated throughout the entire movie.

Ryan Hollinger praised the film’s bold and unique vision, noting it’s likely to divide audiences even more than ’28YL’. He called it a daring sequel that powerfully explores themes of cults, mental illness, trauma, and empathy.
