After the announcement that Marquis de Lafayette is one of the leaders in Civilization 7, it has also been confirmed that the French Empire will be one of the civilizations available during the Modern Age at launch. Initially, Napoleon Bonaparte was among the first leaders unveiled, with his alternate persona connected to players who have previously logged into Civilization 6. This move likely targeted new players (or those still playing Civilization 5) by encouraging them to buy Civilization 6 before the release of Civilization 7.

91mobiles, partnering with OnLeaks, has released renderings of a device. These images show a console that resembles the Nintendo Switch but appears larger than both the OLED and initial versions. When equipped with Joy-Cons, 91mobiles provides these dimensions: 271 x 116.4 x 31.4mm (approximately 10.67 x 4.58 x 1.24 inches). The suggested screen size is approximately 8.4 inches.
