If you haven’t experienced Tales of Graces on Nintendo Wii or Tales of Graces f on PlayStation 3, I was intrigued to discover how the remastered version would fare on contemporary platforms. Bandai Namco Entertainment introduced the enhanced edition of Tales of Vesperia and later a remaster of Tales of Symphonia for consoles and PC. While I enjoyed the PC and Xbox versions of Tales of Vesperia, I encountered issues with stability and performance on Nintendo Switch. Unfortunately, the remastered version of Tales of Symphonia was problematic on Switch and less impressive even in its original PC release several years ago. This left me a bit apprehensive about how Tales of Graces f Remastered would perform.

Back in 2009, I got my hands on Tales of Graces when it first dropped for the Nintendo Wii. However, it wasn’t until 2012, when it made its way to the PlayStation 3 as an upgraded version, that gamers like me in the West could enjoy it. This game is set in a world called Ephinea and follows my character, young Asbel Lhant, a noble lad who encounters a mysterious girl with amnesia. She’s later named Sophie, and in a desperate bid to save me, my brother Hubert, and our friend Richard from a monster, she seemingly gives up her life. This self-sacrifice leaves a deep mark on Asbel, shattering his life and confidence.

In the Nightingale gaming community, there’s a strong sense of appreciation and positivity towards the developers, as they’ve been praised for consistently enhancing the game to make it enjoyable. A user named BattleBandit146 started the discussion, saying that “The Inflexion team has truly excelled with this game.” This sentiment was echoed by numerous others, who also lauded the continuous updates since the game’s initial roadmap launch in early 2024. It’s clear that the players value the effort being put into Nightingale, keeping them engaged and eager to witness further advancements.

This year, Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 is set to participate in the Throwback Tournament, following Street Fighter III: Third Strike from last year. Conversely, Fatal Fury: City of Wolves will debut at Evo for the first time approximately four months after its release on April 24th. It will then compete alongside returning games such as Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8.
