1X Robotics has introduced NEO, a robot designed to handle all your household chores and provide companionship. However, this convenience comes at a price of $20,000.
The idea of a robot butler seemed like science fiction for a long time. While movies and TV have shown us what it could look like, actually building one has been a major challenge for companies for years.
As 2025 approaches, several companies are starting to showcase robots that could meet the growing demand. Figure AI has introduced the Figure 03 humanoid robot, Tesla is working on its Optimus robots, and UBTech Robotics from China has the Walker S2 already being tested in various industries.
1X recently unveiled its $20,000 NEO bot, designed to handle household chores, provide companionship, and simplify daily life. Deliveries are expected to begin in 2026.

NEO robot makes waves on social media
The Neo robot, which looks like a human, was introduced on October 28th. A ten-minute video demonstrated its abilities, including cleaning and providing companionship. It’s 5 feet 6 inches tall and can lift up to 154 pounds, though it’s designed to carry around 55 pounds.
Buying a NEO costs $20,000, but you can also rent one for $500 per month. There’s also a one-time $200 deposit required to start the rental.
This robot can operate for four hours on a quick charge, and it will automatically return to its charging station when the battery gets low. This means it might start a task like emptying the trash, but then need to recharge before finishing.

So, normally, NEO runs on its own, which is pretty cool. But if I want to really get into the action, I can switch it to ‘Expert’ mode. Then, using my VR headset, I can actually take direct control of the bot – it’s like I’m piloting it! It’s a way to jump in and handle things myself when I want a more hands-on experience.
According to 1X CEO Bernt Bornich, humanoids have transitioned from science fiction and research projects to a commercially available product with the launch of NEO.
As a huge fan, I see NEO as the beginning of something really amazing – a future with so much potential! And honestly, I’m thrilled to be a part of it and hope you’ll join us as we explore what’s next.
For years, human-like robots were just a dream of science fiction, then a focus of research. Now, with the release of NEO, they’re becoming a reality you can own. NEO marks the beginning of a future with more possibilities, and we invite you to be a part of it. Order your NEO today!
