
The popular children’s show Reading Rainbow is making a comeback! Following a successful online revival with nearly 5 million views across four episodes, the program has been renewed for another 24 episodes.
Mychal Threets will be back to host the show, and Kristen McGregor – an Emmy-winning producer known for her work on shows like Blippi’s Treehouse, Ms. Rachel, and Sesame Street – is joining as executive producer and showrunner. Upcoming episodes will include new celebrities and books, details of which will be revealed soon. Sony Pictures is producing and distributing the series with Embassy Row and Buffalo Toronto Public Media.
Michael Davies, of Embassy Row, noted the strong positive reaction to the Reading Rainbow reboot and host Mychal, proving there’s a dedicated audience for quality children’s educational shows.
This show isn’t just fun to watch—it actually helps people improve their reading skills, which is really important right now as fewer people are able to read well.
