D4 Enterprise has just launched Aramo, the beloved action RPG from Sein Soft, on the Nintendo Switch. You can now find it available for purchase on Nintendo eShops around the globe, including in the US, where it’s priced at $6.49.
Aramo first came out for the classic Japanese computer, the MSX, back in 1986. This version is a direct port of the original Japanese game, but a significant amount of the text is translated into English. Besides the Nintendo Switch, you can also find it on modern Windows PCs through Project EGG in Japan.
You can find the official screenshots and descriptions for Aramo right below.

You’re stranded on a planet that was once home to a highly advanced civilization, but now it’s gone. This is a thrilling action RPG where you fight to survive, all viewed from a unique side angle!
The planet—far beyond the galaxy, sealed within a swarm of meteors.
The time— An advanced civilization, annihilated by nuclear war.
The man—a drifter, crash-landing on the planet by a meteor storm.
On the planet stand majestic towers, and a labyrinths formed by tunnels. The remnants of a civilization far more advanced than the year 2000.
Can this man, who arrived in a world ruled by “nothing,” overcome the ultra-advanced civilization?
This is an action RPG originally released in Japan by Zainsoft in 1986. You play as a lone survivor who crash-lands on a planet and must explore the remnants of a highly advanced, but long-gone civilization, all while searching for a way to escape.
The game features a quarter-view perspective and a world constructed from blocks, creating a large environment to explore. However, this blocky design can make areas look alike, so it’s easy to get lost. It’s a good idea to create a map, pay attention to landmarks, and remember where you find items as you explore. When you enter dungeons, the view changes to top-down for better visibility, but be prepared for tricky mazes and turret attacks – it’s a challenging adventure!
Combat works like many other action RPGs, with a focus on direct confrontation. You can also use firearms with a dedicated key. Defeating enemies earns you experience points, and leveling up makes you stronger. This simple gameplay makes it easy to pick up and play. Your health is represented by a vertical gauge – if it empties, the game is over (but remember you can restore health by resting on the surface, so keep an eye on it!).
In this game, you’ll explore a planet made of cubes. What mysteries are hidden within this world of a lost, ultra-advanced civilization?
