What I appreciated was that, being live-action, it felt a bit more grown-up than the original, mixing those typical coming-of-age moments with a darker, more mysterious vibe. Sadly, despite the potential, a lot of critics found it pretty underwhelming – some even called it forgettable – and Netflix decided to cancel it after just two seasons. It’s a shame, because I think it had a unique feel.

Based on Jonathan Stroud’s popular book series and brought to Netflix by Joe Cornish, Lockwood & Co. takes place in a world plagued by genuinely frightening ghosts. The world they built is so immersive, with complex politics and really intense relationships between the characters. Eric Heisserer did an amazing job bringing the magic system and the terrifying Fold to life – the battles were epic! It quickly became one of my favorite fantasy shows, so I was really disappointed when Netflix decided to cancel it after two seasons, even though so many of us loved it.

I absolutely love the premise of *The Good Place*! It starts with Eleanor Shellstrop, who, let’s just say, wasn’t the nicest person when she was alive. So, imagine her surprise when she ends up in the ‘Good Place’ – basically, afterlife paradise! The catch? She *knows* she doesn’t belong. The whole show is about her trying to hide that and, in the process, actually become a good person so she can earn her place there, all while dodging the watchful eyes of her neighbors and the architect of this perfect community.

A Whimsical Fantasy Comedy

Created by Michael Schur, *The Good Place* starts as a lighthearted story about self-discovery, but quickly evolves into something much more. Over four seasons, the show surprises viewers with unexpected turns while thoughtfully examining big questions about ethics, emotional intelligence, and what makes a life truly meaningful.
