11 Biggest Reveals From Star Wars’ New Mandalorian & Grogu Trailer

As a huge Star Wars fan, I was so thrilled to finally see the full trailer for The Mandalorian & Grogu! It gives us the best glimpse yet of what’s in store for Din Djarin and Grogu’s new adventure. It’s amazing to see a Star Wars movie back in theaters after The Rise of Skywalker came out in 2019, and this trailer is packed with interesting connections and hints about the story.

Okay, so after the events of The Mandalorian season 3, Din Djarin and Grogu are officially working with the New Republic, hunting down the remaining bad guys from the old Empire. But it looks like things are about to get a whole lot more complicated! The new trailer hints they’ll be crossing paths with some seriously powerful Hutt gangsters and facing off against even more unexpected dangers. I’ve dug through the trailer, and here’s everything you need to know about the biggest reveals!

All The Biggest Reveals From The Mandalorian & Grogu’s New Trailer

The trailer begins with a stunning view of X-Wings (and one Y-wing) landing as the sun sets. This scene is visually striking and intentionally mirrors a similar shot of First Order TIE fighters from the movie The Force Awakens released in 2015.

Din Djarin is looking for information on a Hutt gangster and runs into an uncooperative four-armed Ardennian who closes up his food stall. Viewers may remember Ardennians from 2018’s Solo: A Star Wars Story, where one was voiced by director Jon Favreau. This time, the Ardennian is voiced by the famous director Martin Scorsese, hinting at a high level of quality for the episode.

The new trailer for The Mandalorian & Grogu gives us a glimpse of the main villains. We see the Hutt Twins, who previously appeared in The Book of Boba Fett and attempted to take over Jabba’s territory. We also see a group of officers from the remnants of the Empire, including a character played by Jonny Coyne, who was previously seen with the Imperial Shadow Council in season 3 of The Mandalorian.

The latest trailer for the new series shows that Sigourney Weaver’s character, Col. Ward, uses a deck of cards to keep track of important Imperial targets. She needs Din Djarin’s help finding them, but she clarifies that the mission isn’t about getting revenge – it’s about stopping another major war from happening.

The scene offers a clear view of Aldelphi Base, a key location we first saw in The Mandalorian. A U-Wing, a recognizable gunship from Rogue One and Andor, is visible on the landing platform.

The main muscle for the Hutt Twins seems to be old battle droids from the Clone Wars, but they’ve been repaired and upgraded. Several of these droids can be seen on Nal Hutta, and new toy reveals have given us a closer look at one specific model called the “Mercenary Droid Guard.”

Fans will be excited to see Embo and Marrok, a famous bounty hunter and his pet, appear in live-action for the first time. The scene shows them approaching Din Djarin and Grogu’s home at night during a rainstorm. Embo, a skilled Kyuzo warrior, originally appeared in the animated series The Clone Wars, and was voiced by Dave Filoni, who is now a leader at Lucasfilm.

The scene shows Din Djarin without his helmet, seemingly a prisoner of the Twins. We then see a close-up of Pedro Pascal’s face as he confronts a strange creature – a large, white, snake-like reptile resembling a crocodile.

The latest trailer for The Mandalorian & Grogu offers a clearer view of Jeremy Allen White as Rotta the Hutt, Jabba the Hutt’s son. The footage reveals Rotta, armed with two axes and fighting in an arena, will directly battle Din Djarin.

The latest trailer offers the clearest view yet of Garazeb “Zeb” Orellios in the upcoming Star Wars movie. Zeb, a soldier for the New Republic, will team up with Din Djarin and Grogu on their adventure. Known for his time with the Spectres in the animated series Star Wars Rebels, Zeb will appear in live-action alongside other members of his team – Ezra Bridger, Hera Syndulla, Sabine Wren, and Chopper – in season 2 of Ahsoka later this year.

At the end of the trailer, a sign reading “Weathers Apollo” in Aurebesh appears just before a dangerous creature bursts through a door. This is a heartfelt tribute to Carl Weathers, the actor who played Greef Karga and sadly passed away in 2024.

The Mandalorian & Grogu releases in theaters on May 22nd, 2026.
