10 rarest Pokemon you can catch in Pokemon Legends Z-A

Collecting all the Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Z-A will be a challenge, as some are much rarer than others, making them harder to find and more valuable.

These Pokémon—whether due to special weather requirements, brief availability, or tricky evolution methods involving rare finds—are the ones that give dedicated collectors the biggest challenge.

Here are 10 of the hardest Pokémon to find in the game. Each one is rare because of where and how it appears, or because it requires a special challenge or evolution.

1. Eevee

Okay, so Eevee in *Legends: Z-A* is seriously rare. It’s one of those Pokémon everyone’s hunting for because of all the different ways you can evolve it. The crazy part? It *only* spawns in a single patch of grass in the whole game! You gotta get lucky to find one.

If you’d like to find it, check out Eevee’s location in our Pokédex here.

2. Gengar

Gengar remains a popular Pokémon, and that’s true in Pokémon Legends Z-A as well. You’ll get one chance during a specific mission to catch it!

If you’d like to find it, check out how to get Gengar in our Pokédex here.

3. Helioptile

Helioptile is a rare Pokémon with very specific spawning requirements – it only appears in one location on the map, so it’s easy to overlook. To evolve Helioptile into Heliolisk, you’ll also need a Sun Stone, making the evolved form even harder to obtain.

If you’d like to find it, check out Helioptile’s location in our Pokédex here.

4. Honedge

This popular Pokémon from the Kalos region is back in this game, but it’s quite rare. You’ll only find it in a couple of places, so be prepared to spend some time searching – it takes patience to find one!

If you’d like to find it, check out Honedge’s location in our Pokédex here.

5. Drampa

Drampa can Mega Evolve in this game, but it’s a rare encounter – you’ll only find it in one specific location. Plus, many players consider its Mega Evolution to be one of the most visually impressive!

If you’d like to find it, check out Drampa’s location in our Pokédex here.

6. Pancham

Pancham is a rare Pokémon that only appears in one specific spot on the map, so you’ll need to spend some time searching to find it.

If you’d like to find it, check out Pancham’s location in our Pokédex here.

7. Dratini

Dratini is notoriously rare, often appearing on rooftops, and even when you find one, it’s likely to escape – so be sure to catch it if you see it! Evolving Dratini all the way to Dragonite takes a lot of effort for collectors in Z-A, and you can’t find Dragonite or Dragonair in the wild. Don’t miss out on the chance to get a Dratini!

If you’d like to find it, check out Dratini’s location in our Pokédex here.

8. Gallade

To evolve Ralts into Gallade, you need a male Kirlia and a Dawn Stone. We’ve only encountered it once in the game – as a rare Alpha Pokémon during a post-game mission.

If you’d like to find it, check out how to get Gallade in our Pokédex here.

9. Absol

Absol is a popular Pokémon for trainers trying to catch rare Dark-types, thanks to its sleek look and the fact that it doesn’t appear often in the wild. You’ll usually find it appearing on rooftops, but it’s a very uncommon spawn.

If you’d like to find it, check out how to get Absol in our Pokédex here.

10. Beldum

Beldum appears in just one specific location on the map, and evolving it into Metagross is a huge benefit. It’s as difficult to catch as a legendary Pokémon. Don’t miss out on this rare opportunity, though it might be tricky to find!

If you’d like to find it, check out how to get Beldum in our Pokedex here.
