WWE Star Randy Orton Auditioned For Major Deadpool 2 Role

As a die-hard WWE fan with over two decades of wrestling lore under my belt, I can confidently say that Randy Orton is one of the greats. His career spans across more than two decades, and he has captured every major championship. From headlining marquee matches to dabbling in Hollywood, Orton’s journey has been nothing short of captivating.

Randy Orton has been a longtime member of the WWE, boasting more than two decades of service. He is highly esteemed within the organization due to his exceptional performances and accomplishments. Among these are winning every significant title and leading numerous high-profile matches during his career. Recently, he extended his contract with WWE for another five years. Additionally, he has ventured into movies, a common endeavor among wrestlers, and even tried out for Deadpool 2.

During a recent conversation on What Do You Want To Talk About?, Randy Orton shared some career insights with WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, expressing his interest in pursuing more acting opportunities like John Cena’s. One of the roles Orton auditioned for was that of Cable in the Deadpool sequel.

Orton mentioned, “I’ve done auditions from time to time, and one of the first ones I recall was when I secured representation in that field. That led to an audition for Deadpool 2.”

Rhodes cut him off. “Cable?”

Orton affirmed by saying “Cable,” to which he confessed his dream of portraying Cable, believing he was destined for the role. However, he didn’t receive a callback, and Josh Brolin ended up getting the part, excelling in it. Orton admitted his confusion about his career path then, realizing that although he could submit auditions, he is primarily a professional wrestler. He expressed his contentment with this profession and everything it has provided him, indicating that he doesn’t plan on leaving the world of wrestling.

Discussing Orton’s impressive career, it’s apparent that he would be an immediate choice for a Hall of Fame induction whenever he retires for good. During their nearly hour-long chat, they delve into John Cena’s farewell bout, Randy’s fascination with Elden Ring, and his personal growth sentiments, expressing the need to evolve as a man.

Randy will compete against Gunther in the upcoming World Heavyweight Championship fight at Bash in Berlin.
