Johnny Depp has played numerous iconic characters, such as those in ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ and ‘Edward Scissorhands’, to name a few. But before he became a household name and earned acclaim within the industry, like everyone else, he began his acting journey. His first on-screen appearance was in the successful horror movie, ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’. Therefore, it’s clear that he made an impressive start in his career.
Regrettably, Private Resort, the movie where Johnny Depp was a main character, didn’t enjoy the same level of success as his first film. The production, set at a Florida resort, followed two teenagers attempting to woo women but instead encountering a jewel thief. Unfortunately, it received negative reviews from both critics and viewers, and did not perform well financially.
In a conversation with the Lexington Herald-Leader, as reported by Far Out Magazine, Johnny Depp expressed no positive sentiments regarding the movie he was involved in.

Despite this, he chose to participate in the production, which may not shine too brightly on his film resume. However, it didn’t seem to affect his career significantly, as it was just one of many projects for him. He is well-informed that this particular project did not hinder his success. Today, the movie “Private Resort” is hardly remembered by many, while the actor’s other, more impactful roles are considered iconic in film history.
