The Next Jackbox Game Is A Silly Take On Family Feud

As a seasoned Jackbox enthusiast with a treasure trove of game nights under my belt, I must say that The Jackbox Survey Scramble has piqued my curiosity like no other! Having traversed the realms of trivia, drawing games, and even a virtual white elephant gift exchange, I’m intrigued by this new direction they’re taking.

In late October, a fresh addition to the Jackbox series is set to debut, deviating from its usual array of interactive games. This new release, titled “The Jackbox Survey Scramble,” is taking a Family Feud-style approach. Marketed as an innovative compilation of survey-based games, “The Jackbox Survey Scramble” is slated for launch on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch, Amazon Fire TV, and Apple TV around the end of October.

As a gamer, I’m all about thinking creatively and deciphering the answers to global surveys. It could be something like, “What’s the most adorable one-word nickname for behinds?” or “Which single ingredient makes a sandwich divine?” In this game, my answer would be “heavenly hams.

According to Jackbox Games, the game “The Jackbox Survey Scramble” is structured to provide a fresh and evolving gameplay, thanks to a system where every guess submitted gets added to a database and reintroduced into the game as an answer. The game offers four different modes to keep things interesting.

  • Hilo mode: Where you have to guess the most- and least-popular answers to surveys
  • Speed mode: Rapid-fire game rounds
  • Squares mode: Two teams compete to claim three squares in a row on the grid
  • Bounce mode: Two teams control a paddle that sits on a scale between the most-popular to the least-popular answers. Work with your team to guess an answer that puts your paddle in the right place to intercept a bouncing ball and stop your opponents from scoring a goal.

For younger family members, you have the flexibility to tailor the gaming experience by adjusting content filters, streamer settings, or accessibility options, and there are extra family-oriented settings for application. If this sounds like an enjoyable experience, there will be a complimentary demo during Steam Next Fest from October 14 – 21, enabling you to try out Hilo and Square modes. Additional game modes will also be introduced in a free update at the end of the year.
