Sun Valley With Sand Dunes: Barack Obama, Ryan Reynolds and Ari Emanuel Touch Down in Doha for Inaugural Sportico World Summit

As a seasoned cinephile with a penchant for global affairs, the spectacle that unfolded in Doha this week was nothing short of exhilarating. The convergence of Hollywood heavyweights, world leaders, and influential minds from various industries at the Sportico World Summit was reminiscent of a blockbuster movie set, albeit with a more sophisticated script.

This week, the primary city and economic center of Doha, Qatar experienced significant celebrity and high-profile visitor influx, with both Hollywood figures and global leaders gracing its streets.

Heads of state including President Barack Obama, former British prime ministers Boris Johnson and Tony Blair, “Deadpool and Wolverine” star Ryan Reynolds, Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel and host of other bold names hit the Arabian Peninsula for the inaugural Sportico World Summit.

75 prominent creatives, politicians, and intellectuals were invited to a private event hosted by the publication, where they discussed global issues and built cross-border relationships. Qatar’s Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani and Jay Penske, CEO of Penske Media Corporation, served as the event’s hosts. This summit is planned to be an annual occurrence, expanding upon Sportico’s U.S. conference held on South Carolina’s Kiawah Island, which typically attracts sports franchise owners.

Speaking of, the Doha program attracted names like Tottenham Hotspurs chairman Daniel Levy, Ariel Investments Co-CEO Mellody Hobson, Magic Johnson, Eldridge Industries founder and CEO Todd Boehly, actor Omar Sy, FIFA president Gianni Infantino and former Italian PM Matteo Renz.

At the event, not only were keynotes and innovative ideas presented, but also an important cultural highlight was achieved: renowned Chinese pianist Lang Lang performed a newly found 200-year old Chopin waltz in the museum designed by IM Pei, the Museum of Islamic Art, for a select audience.

In summary, during Obama’s visit to Qatar, Reynolds mentioned that the gathering included influential individuals and the discussion covered a wide range of topics, including technology, soccer in lower leagues, and even the children’s show “Teletubbies”. As anticipated.

EbMaster and Sportico are owned by PMC.
