‘School for Good and Evil’ Author Soman Chainani Reveals New Book ‘Young World’; Bidding War Underway for TV and Film Rights (EXCLUSIVE)

As a seasoned movie critic with a knack for recognizing the potential of literary works, I must say that Soman Chainani’s latest offering, “Young World,” has piqued my interest significantly. Having traversed the political landscape through the lens of fiction myself, I find the premise of a 17-year-old President to be both audacious and intriguing.

Author Soman Chainani, known for “The School for Good and Evil,” has released his newest book titled “Young World.” This political fantasy novel is depicted through prose and two-colored artwork. The title is compared to a blend of “House of Cards” and “The Hunger Games.”

“Young World” chronicles the extraordinary journey of a 17-year-old who defies expectations by winning the U.S. Presidency. This unexpected election sparks a global phenomenon known as the Revolting Youth party. However, at their initial G8 summit, tragedy strikes, putting the young President in a precarious position where he must not only clear his name, but also prevent potential worldwide catastrophe

Several movie and television executives are currently engaged in detailed discussions regarding the acquisition of the rights to “Young World.” This project is being managed by Creative Artists Agency (CAA)

This book is the initial publication from Chainani following the Netflix premiere of the film adaptation of his successful six-book fantasy series “The School for Good and Evil,” which took place on October 18, 2022. Chainani served as executive producer, with Paul Feig directing and a star-studded cast that includes Charlize Theron, Kerry Washington, Laurence Fishburne, Michelle Yeoh, and Ben Kingsley. The film opened at No. 1 in 84 countries and has since been viewed for over 225 million hours across all platforms

Although Chainani’s “The School for Good and Evil” series, which has sold over 4 million copies, as well as his latest book “Beasts & Beauty,” a modern take on 12 classic fairy tales, were published by HarperCollins, the book “Young World” was acquired by Penguin Random House in a pre-emptive sale before it even reached the market
