Pokemon TCG pocket finally fixes decades old misprint

As a diehard Pokémon fan since the days of the Game Boy Color, I can’t help but feel a nostalgic wave wash over me with the release of Pokemon TCG Pocket. The excitement is palpable in the air, and the internet is abuzz with all things Pokémon, especially the revamped Slowpoke card!

While lots of Pokemon TCG Pocket enthusiasts eagerly anticipate its global launch, the mobile game is already being unveiled in certain areas like New Zealand. As a result, players living there, along with some savvy mobile gamers who’ve changed their region settings, now have the opportunity to play the new game.

Initially, previews provided a glimpse into some upcoming game cards. However, since the game’s release, it seems like Pandora’s box has been opened, and an overflow of all the cards and unique artwork hidden in Pocket is now surfacing across the internet as players share their discoveries after they start playing.

Several cards are generating buzz online, yet one stands out due to its connection to a vintage card from 1999 and because it rectifies an artistic flaw that was in the initial design.

According to Pokebeach, the new Pokemon TCG Pocket release features the classic Slowpoke card from 1999, marking its debut in the Trading Card Game (TCG). This version of Slowpoke was initially introduced in the first Pokemon Fossil set.

In both instances, the artwork is by Miki Tanaka, a longtime collaborator on the Pokemon Trading Card Game. However, observant fans with the original card might notice that it was misspelled as “Miki Takano” instead of the artist’s correct name, Miki Tanaka. Fortunately, this error from years past has been rectified in the latest versions by Pocket.

Furthermore, unlike the initial card that depicted a single Slowpoke in an open space, this revised card extends the artwork onto a larger illustration card, revealing that there were indeed numerous other Slowpokes relaxing in the vicinity.

Supporters are ecstatic about the unveiling, as shown by their remarks below Pokebeach’s initial post, which describe the recent update as “amazing” and also express excitement with, “It’s fantastic to watch!

As a fervent admirer, I share the sentiment of many others who long for a tangible form of the new version. Statements such as, “The more I experience it, the more my heart aches that everything remains only in the digital realm,” echo my feelings perfectly.
