As a devoted fan, I can’t contain my excitement! The classic Wallace & Gromit adventures have been beautifully remastered in stunning 4K quality and are now available on UHD-format discs. However, if you don’t own a 4K player yet, fret not! You can still enjoy these timeless shorts on the standard Blu-ray disc, which also includes the full-length film “The Curse of the Were-Rabbit,” as well as the delightful series “Cracking Contraptions.” This set also offers audio commentaries for all four short films, an engaging interview with creators Nick Park and Peter Lord, a collection of stills, and numerous behind-the-scenes features. A few years later, in 1993, they crossed paths with the notorious penguin, Feathers McGraw, who was after Wallace’s advanced trousers. In 1995, they returned in ‘A Close Shave’, and they made a big-screen appearance in 2005. They also featured in another short adventure called ‘A Matter of Loaf and Death’ in 2008.

Unfortunately, the voice actor of Wallace, Peter Sallis, passed away in 2017; however, both characters will appear again in the film “Vengeance Most Fowl,” scheduled for release on Netflix on December 25, 2024. Additionally, Aardman Animation has created several other beloved films beyond Wallace and Gromit.

The movie “Chicken Run” remains a well-liked film about an escape, and the animation studio later dived into computer-generated imagery (CGI) with the excellent “Flushed Away.” This film featured the voice of everyone’s beloved Wolverine actor, Hugh Jackman, as a noble mouse aiming to leave the sewers. Additionally, it showcased Sir Ian McKellen providing the voice for a ruthless toad character.
