Nobody Wants This creator reveals Season 1 almost had a much sadder ending

As a gamer with a soft spot for romantic comedies, I’ve found myself completely smitten by the adorable dynamics between Joanne and Noah in Nobody Wants This. The show’s unique blend of humor, heart, and relatable characters has made it a standout addition to my Netflix binge-watching list.

In her own words, Erin Foster, the brainchild behind the initial romantic comedy series “Nobody Wants This,” revealed that the first season could have had a significantly more melancholic conclusion.

Despite the popularity of true crime and murder mystery series like Monsters Season 2 and The Perfect Couple on Netflix, the new romantic comedy show Nobody Wants This has managed to claim the number one position.

This season features Kristen Bell and Adam Brody and explores the on-again, off-again romance between podcast host Joanne, who specializes in sex-related topics, and Rabbi Noah.

Despite the story concluding with a typical reunion kiss following a rollercoaster ride of events for the couple, Foster shared with TVLine that she conceived three distinct endings. One option featured Joanne questioning, “So, how is this supposed to work?”, before fading to black.

She explained, “Upon leaving the bus, she encounters him who then declares, ‘It’s you and me.’ Through various interactions, we experimented with different possibilities, and eventually, after a collective decision, we arrived at our current situation.

One reason many fans eagerly anticipate another season of the show is the optimism surrounding Joanne and Noah reuniting, considering their contrasting backgrounds.

Regrettably, the streaming service hasn’t given an official green light for more episodes of Nobody Wants This yet, but Foster stands poised with a fresh concept should they receive approval.

As a gamer, I’m eager to pick up right where we left off! Just like in a well-crafted game, our characters developed their relationship gradually in Season 1, taking it slow and steady. I believe this pacing made for a more satisfying experience, and I hope to carry that same approach into a possible Season 2 without rushing things.

Apart from the show’s creator, many fans are also hoping for Joanne and Noah’s relationship to continue in the series, as they’ve made their interest known.

“Kinda need everyone to watching Nobody Wants This on Netflix because I NEEEEED it to get renewed for Season 2!!!” One fan posted on X/Twitter.

Another person stated, “I just completed Season 1 of Nobody, it was fantastic – I could use 14 more seasons immediately!
