In the year 2022, Amusan broke the world record in the 100m hurdles event and has been crowned as a three-time Diamond League champion. The CEO of ATHLST Studios, Lanre Aina, along with Sulaiman Folarin, are responsible for directing the documentary about this remarkable athlete.

Today, Banijay Germany revealed that their entertainment division, Brainpool, will collaborate with AcunMedya to produce local versions of “MasterChef” and “Survivor.” These shows are set to air on German channel Sport1. As part of the worldwide Banijay Entertainment family, “MasterChef,” created by Franc Roddam, has garnered over 70 local adaptations, resulting in more than 700 seasons, earning it the title of the world’s most successful cooking TV format according to Guinness World Records. Similarly, “Survivor,” created by Charlie Parsons, has been adapted 50 times, accumulating over 400 seasons, making it one of the most popular reality formats ever produced.

Goalpost Pictures’ mystery drama “Black Snow,” starring Travis Fimmel, has secured numerous deals for its first season. These include Prime Video for Africa, Acorn Media for Spain and Spanish-speaking Andorra, Blue Entertainment for German-speaking Switzerland and Lichtenstein, and RTBF for French-speaking Belgium. The series was initially produced for Stan in Australia and Sundance Now in the U.S., and has garnered impressive ratings in several countries due to its classic whodunit plotline featuring Detective James Cormack. Additionally, deals have been signed for the second season of the show, which will debut on New Year’s Day in Australia, with TV4 (Switzerland), MTV OY (Finland), Magenta TV (Germany), Canal+ (Austria), Cosmote (Greece), Sýn hf (Iceland), OSN+ and OSNtv in the Middle East, and TVNZ in New Zealand.

BBC Studios Natural History Goes Dutch

I’m thrilled to be part of the announcement about a groundbreaking agreement between BBC Studios and Dutch public broadcaster NPO for showcasing extraordinary natural history content in the Netherlands. Over the course of several years, NPO will have priority access to all new BBC Studios’ natural history productions, which will grace their linear channels, as well as their streaming on-demand (SBOD) and free video on-demand (FVOD) platforms. Some of the shows already included in this deal are “Mammals,” “Changing Planet: Coral Special,” “Planet Earth III,” “Frozen Planet II,” and the upcoming “Asia” series, among others.
