Nicole Pangis, who previously served as CEO for the ad-sales company Ampersand, is set to join Netflix in a new position as Vice President of Advertising. This role has proven challenging for Netflix as they aim to increase revenue from Madison Avenue and integrate it more substantially into their business strategy.

According to Amy Reinhard, President of Advertising at Netflix, Pangis has a notable standing within our field. She is admired not only for her extensive network with clients and associates but also for her data-centric strategy in streaming advertising. Approximately two years ago, Netflix entered the competition for video advertising, but industry experts claim that it hasn’t fared as well against competitors like Amazon. Both platforms create highly popular shows and series, but Amazon has shown a greater readiness to promote its ad-supported tier, effectively making it the primary offering for its Prime Video service. In contrast, Netflix offers an ad-supported option worldwide, but it hasn’t yet managed to attract the massive audience that large advertisers need in order to increase volume and sponsorship.
