NFL star Kyler Murray turns meme into Black Ops 6 advertisement

As a long-time gamer and sports enthusiast, I find Kyler Murray’s recent moves intriguing and entertaining. His ability to turn a potentially negative situation into a positive one is truly impressive. The NFL’s video game meme might have started as a jest, but it seems that Kyler has taken it as a challenge, even going so far as to partner with Call of Duty.

For NFL enthusiasts, there’s an ongoing joke suggesting that when a new edition of Call of Duty is released, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray underperforms. In a humorous twist, Murray himself referenced this gag in an advertisement for Black Ops 6.

Kyler Murray, who is deeply involved with video games and streaming, demonstrated this interest by becoming part of FaZe Clan in 2021. Yet, his pastime became associated with controversy when the Cardinals inserted a contentious provision into his significant $220 million contract extension.

He had to set aside four hours every week for self-study, excluding activities like watching TV, playing video games, or surfing online. However, this rule was taken out after two weeks, yet the humorous remarks continued.

NFL enthusiasts playfully criticized Murray when his performance seemed to decline after a fresh Call of Duty game release. It’s important to note that this didn’t happen by accident; an astute fantasy football user plotted Murray’s average career fantasy points, and it showed a noticeable drop in productivity for three consecutive seasons following the launch of a new CoD title.

Rather than ignoring the criticism, Murray embraced the humor by signing a profitable deal with Call of Duty instead.

Murray posted, “To the trolls who memed me into a bag, thank you!”

Hey there, fellow gamers!

The post also includes a Black Ops 6 promotional video in which ‘The Replacer’ replaces Murray as the Cardinals’ starting quarterback while Murray practices BO6.

Despite the NFL star being absent from the advertisement, there’s a chance he might feature in other marketing materials for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 prior to its official launch on October 25th.

Interestingly enough, the Cardinals have just pulled off a stunning victory against last year’s NFC Champions, the San Francisco 49ers, away from home. If they fail to maintain their form in their next game, it’s likely that the jokes about them will resurface again.
