McDonald’s is considering reintroducing a vegetarian burger option, following the discontinuation of both the McPlant and salads throughout the USA.
Due to low customer demand, vegetarians and vegans have limited choices at McDonald’s as many of their healthier options have been taken off the menu.
Because customers don’t seem interested in healthier food options, vegetarians and vegans are not offered many choices at McDonald’s.)
As a gamer, if you’re craving McDonald’s salads, we’ve got some exciting news! However, based on what we’ve learned from our past experiences, it seems that’s not exactly what you guys are seeking from us, McDonald’s. We’re always listening and ready to adapt to your preferences!
It appears that the fast food chain has revised its approach and is now testing a plant-based burger in various locations throughout Canada.
McDonald’s tries its luck with new McVeggie burger
The McVeggie will be found in certain retailers located in British Columbia, Ontario, and New Brunswick up until April 14th.
It comes in two forms: regular and spicy habanero. The patty consists of carrots, green beans, zucchini, peas, soybeans, broccoli, and corn.
Previously, in 2019, McDonald’s Canada had tested a PLT (plant, lettuce, and tomato) sandwich over a 12-week period and didn’t see the results it wanted.

Francesca Cardarelli, the Chief Marketing Officer, expressed to CTV that the product wasn’t exactly what consumers had in mind, but she strongly feels the McVeggie is a better choice due to its increased appeal and allure.
She remarked that the vegetable element is quite noticeable, giving it a burst of freshness and individuality compared to our previous tests. This, she believes, is exactly what they’re seeking now.
This isn’t the first time McDonald’s Canada has tested a product before a larger launch. Last year, the chain unveiled the ‘Big Arch’ – a burger that towers over the Big Mac.
The product, which we’ve given a 4-star rating to but hasn’t been launched in the U.S. yet, is said to be coming out around the end of 2025.
Could the McVeggie follow suit? Only time will tell as customers get a chance to try it out for themselves.
