As a seasoned movie and series enthusiast with a penchant for the macabre, I must say that the first teaser for FX’s “Grotesquerie” has piqued my interest significantly. The haunting visuals and intriguing narrative hint at a chilling tale of crime, faith, and redemption, which is right up my alley.
FX has released the first teaser for the upcoming horror drama series “Grotesquerie.”
The teaser, which can be seen below, begins with a voiceover by series star Niecy Nash-Betts saying, “I don’t know how it started. It’s like a hole opened up in the world to the center of nothingness.” It is followed by Micaela Diamond’s character, Sister Megan, saying, “This killer is sermonizing, proselytizing, preaching. To understand this monster, we have to decipher these murders.”
The teaser provides a brief sneak peek at Travis Kelce’s appearance in the show, but his specific character details are being tightly guarded as a secret.
Previously announced, the highly anticipated series Grotesquerie is set to debut on FX on September 25th. Joining Nash-Betts, Diamond, and Kelce in the cast are acting talents such as Courtney B. Vance, Lesley Manville, Nicholas Alexander Chavez, and Raven Goodwin.
The official description for the series states:
“A succession of disturbing crimes has disturbed a peaceful town, leaving Detective Lois Tryon (Nash-Betts) with an uneasy feeling that these events are somehow targeted at her. At home, Lois struggles with a complicated relationship with her daughter, a husband in the hospital, and her own psychological battles. With no progress on the case and unsure who to trust, she seeks assistance from Sister Megan (Diamond), a nun who also works as a journalist for the Catholic Guardian. Despite witnessing humanity’s darkest moments, Sister Megan remains hopeful about its potential goodness. Lois, in contrast, is convinced that evil is taking over. As they investigate and gather clues together, Lois and Sister Megan find themselves caught up in a mysterious and enigmatic situation that only deepens the mysteries rather than providing answers.”
The show was developed by Ryan Murphy in collaboration with Jon Robin Baitz and Joe Baken. All of them function as executive producers alongside Alexis Martin Woodall, Max Winkler, Nash-Betts, Vance, Peter Liguori, Nissa Diederich, Eric Kovtun, and Scott Robertson. Additionally, Murphy takes on the role of director, with assistance from Winkler, Martin Woodall, and Elegance Bratton. The studio responsible for its production is 20th Television.
