Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 Will Include Queen's Blood

As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for card games and a soft spot for Final Fantasy VII, I must say this news has my heart racing like Sephiroth chasing after Aeris (or was it Tifa? My memory falters when faced with so many intricate storylines). The confirmation that Queen’s Blood will make its triumphant return in the next installment of the remake trilogy is music to my ears, or rather, cards to my hands.

For those who may have spent more hours engrossed in Queen’s Blood instead of saving the world within Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Square Enix brings exciting news: Director Naoki Hamaguchi has confirmed that the third installment of the Final Fantasy VII remake series will indeed incorporate the card mini-game.

The confirmation, spotted by Eurogamer, happened during the Otacon anime convention this past weekend. As seen on X (formerly known as Twitter), the event was holding a panel with Hamaguchi alongside voice actors and producers of the game.

A participant inquired about plans for a physical release of Queen’s Blood, and Hamaguchi responded that they have received numerous requests for it. He further mentioned that they are working on enhancing or even improving Queen’s Blood for the upcoming installment of the trilogy.

As a long-time fan of Shoplifters and Drive My Car, I must admit that I’m quite intrigued by Hirokazu Kore-eda’s upcoming new iteration. Unfortunately, there isn’t much concrete information available about it yet, but I trust the director’s vision and am confident that he will share details soon. Having followed his career for many years now, I know that his films are always thought-provoking and deeply moving, so I eagerly await more news about this new project.

Information about Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 remains scarce, even though the story appears to be concluded. Contrary to expectations, Square Enix stated that Rebirth didn’t meet sales targets, yet work on Part 3 seems to be progressing smoothly. As for Queen’s Blood, although Hamaguchi hasn’t spoken about any plans for a physical release, fans can look forward to the Final Fantasy VII Remake: Materia Hunter board game as an alternative until it’s back in stock.
