August 20th at Gamescom Opening Night Live will mark the debut of the Civ 7 gameplay trailer – a moment that’s been years in the making!
Following years of eager wait, it was officially unveiled in June that Civilization 7 would be launched, marking the start of an exhilarating journey towards its release. Firaxis Games provided a broad timeframe for its arrival in 2025, while also teasing that players could expect to see Civ 7 gameplay for the first time this August. The moment we’ve all been waiting for is near, and now it has been disclosed that the Civilization 7 gameplay trailer premiere will be showcased during Gamescom Opening Night Live.
Civ 7 gameplay reveal date and time confirmed for Gamescom
Enthusiasts who have long followed the Civilization series are eager for a peek at what’s next, and we now know when that reveal is happening thanks to Gamescom Opening Night Live with Geoff Keighley on August 20. This event will officially unveil the gameplay trailer for the upcoming Civilization 7.

The demonstration will last for approximately 20 minutes, during which the development team will present their concept for Civilization 7, along with fresh, cutting-edge features, and offer unique behind-the-scenes glimpses into the making of Civilization 7. If you’re fortunate enough to visit Gamescom in person, there will also be a dedicated booth for Civilization 7 located in Hall 6 from August 21st through August 25th.
By the close of this month, they plan to attend PAX West in Seattle. On August 31, a developer panel moderated by Greg Miller from Kinda Funny Games will take place, offering exclusive insights into the creation process of Civilization VII. For those attending PAX West personally, you can find them in the Main Theater on the fifth floor of the Summit Building. For those unable to attend, the event will be streamed live at twitch.tv/PAX starting at 11am Pacific Time.
