As a seasoned gamer with over three decades of gaming under my belt, I can’t help but feel a twinge of excitement at the prospect of Assassin’s Creed Shadows getting a co-op mode. The last time we had such an option was with Unity, and while that game had its fair share of issues, the cooperative play was a highlight.
It appears that following its release, Assassin’s Creed Shadows could incorporate a cooperative play feature, known internally as “League.
According to Insider Gaming, they mention that specifics about the cooperative mode are hard to come by. Their report hypothesizes that this feature might let characters Naoe and Yasuke engage in combat together simultaneously, though this aspect is yet to be confirmed. Shadows has been postponed until February 14, 2025; it remains uncertain if the cooperative mode will be playable on the game’s release date.
Though primarily designed as a single-player series, Assassin’s Creed has ventured into multiplayer features previously. Interestingly, the only other game to incorporate cooperative play was Unity, allowing players to explore Paris together and accomplish multiple tasks jointly.
As a gamer, I’ve been eagerly awaiting the launch of Star Wars Outlaws and Assassin’s Creed Shadows, but it looks like we might need to wait a bit longer for both. The team behind Star Wars Outlaws has been pushing for a delay because they’re working hard to address the issues that cropped up during its buggy release, including a patch that unfortunately wiped the progress of some early access players, making their purchase feel pretty pointless. On the bright side, Assassin’s Creed Shadows isn’t quite ready yet, but Ubisoft has confirmed that they’re ditching the season pass model for this game. That means all players will get the first expansion for free once it’s released!
The game is set to launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. After a long hiatus of criticism, Ubisoft is returning to Steam. Star Wars Outlaws will debut on Steam on November 21st, and Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be available there at its release date.
