Rainbow Six pro arrested after allegedly kidnapping man and holding him for months

In Tokyo, the professional player Sho ‘BlackRay’ Hasegawa from Rainbow Six Siege X was detained under accusations of abducting an individual and keeping him imprisoned for approximately three months.

On the 18th of July, I came across some troubling news on Siege.GG – it seems that one of my fellow gamers, Sho ‘BlackRay’ Hasegawa from CAG Osaka, has been taken into custody by Tokyo Metropolitan Police due to accusations of keeping someone against their will for a staggering three months. Quite shocking, isn’t it?

On July 16, seven individuals including the Rainbow 6 Siege X pro were reportedly taken into police custody, along with six others. They are all suspected of extorting money from a primary contractor of an interior construction project. A photograph shows them being escorted into a police station.

As per an additional report from Jiji in Japan, it is claimed that they subjected him to brutal treatment including pouring boiling water on him, striking him with a hammer, and inflicting severe injuries such as fractured ribs, a broken lower back, and burns covering his entire body. Consequently, the contractor had to undergo a six-month recovery process.

Furthermore, the report indicated that there were “concerning allegations” about the seven men stabbing the contractor with a screwdriver and applying a hot frying pan to his body.

It appears the group had forcedfully obtained approximately $13,000 (2 million YEN) from the victim. The victim was discovered by the police after being involved in a car accident on April 30, where he was a passenger.

It appears that CAG Osaka has decided to pull out of the APAC North 2025 Stage 1 Playoffs, where they were scheduled to face off against PSG Talon. Additionally, BlackRay is no longer listed on their team website, yet there’s no official statement regarding his departure at this time.

【Announcement of withdrawal from the event】

According to Siege.GG’s information, it’s thought that this event transpired somewhere between February and April. During this period, BlackRay was likely in Boston, participating in the Six Invitational 2025 tournament.

It’s said that the man was released from confinement just a few weeks prior to CAG Osaka making it to the RE:L0:AD grand finals.
