MrBeast’s video from 10 years ago resurfaces with spot on YouTube predictions

An old video by MrBeast that was initially uploaded more than a decade ago has reappeared on YouTube, and it turns out that young Jimmy’s predictions about the platform were remarkably accurate.

As a gamer and aspiring YouTuber, I’ve certainly had my fair share of videos that I wish could disappear into the abyss. Most of these cringe-worthy attempts were made during my early days, when I was still finding my footing in the vast world of content creation.

On the contrary, YouTube sensation Jimmy ‘MrBeast’ Donaldson openly cherishes his earlier days. Donaldson has shared some of his old content in recent videos and pledged to unveil older clips once he hits specific milestones on YouTube.

More recently, he shared a video of himself from 10 years ago conversing with his future self; however, this particular video remains unpublished. Instead, another old video of his dating back a decade has become popular instead.

MrBeast’s old YouTube predictions are pretty good

In the video titled ‘YouTube in 10 years?’ that was previously mentioned, a younger version of MrBeast offered some forecasts regarding where YouTube, owned by Google, might be heading. Interestingly, many of his predictions were quite close to reality, such as the development of anti-ad blocking technology.

10 years from now, we might find ourselves entering our children’s rooms as they watch videos by FaZe Clan, and we may remark, “During my time, FaZe Clan primarily shared Call of Duty clips.” In the same vein, Donaldson expressed his thoughts that in a decade, YouTube could be filled with popular TV shows and networks, similar to what we currently watch on their website. This hints at the potential for YouTube to evolve into a TV-like platform, much like YouTube TV.

In about a decade, I’ll have become well-known on YouTube and you might find yourself reflecting, ‘I used to watch this person when they only had around 3,000 subscribers; boy, their content seemed so unimpressive back then!'” he said.

Donaldson estimated that PewDiePie’s subscriber base would reach 117 million, while the Swedish content creator currently has approximately 110 million subscribers. However, his count has been overtaken by MrBeast, yet Donaldson’s prediction wasn’t too inaccurate.

As a fan myself, I’ve been wondering why this video, which only has about 300k views, keeps showing up in my recommendations lately. One person commented, “Why is this here?” Another said, “Wow, ten years later and it still gets recommended to me.” A third fan added, “It seems like the creator could predict the future with perfect vision.
