Taco Bell adds three fresh options to their well-liked chicken selection, featuring tender strips, a brand-new burrito, and a tasty taco.
Following a triumphant test run in 2024, Taco Bell reintroduced their scrumptious crispy chicken nuggets on the menu in April 2025, hinting at plans to establish these as a regular menu staple by the end of the year.
During its Live Mas Live event in March, the company unveiled several upcoming products; these long-awaited items are now up for grabs.
On Thursday, June 12th, Taco Bell unveiled their latest offerings – the Crispy Chicken Strips, a burrito, and a taco. Now, these new dishes are ready for customers to savor!
Taco Bell releases three new chicken items
As per Allrecipes, the largest among the three fresh introductions is the Crispy Chicken Strips. These strips are soaked in a zesty jalapeno buttermilk blend before being covered with tortilla chip crumbs and deep-fried. Accompanying these Crispy Chicken Strips are two new sauces: Spicy Ranchero and Avocado Ranch, adding an extra kick to your meal.
Taco Bell has unveiled not one but two dishes that incorporate their latest chicken strips. One of these is a burrito that envelops two of these strips within it. To complement the protein, the Crispy Chicken Burrito offers purple cabbage, lettuce, pico de gallo, and cheddar cheese inside a tortilla, along with your preferred choice of sauces from the same selection as the chicken strip meal.
Among the trio, I’m particularly fond of the miniature taco version, which shares the delightful filling of its burrito counterpart, but boasts only a single succulent chicken strip instead of the usual pair.
Despite not being advertised as an exact match, the Crispy Chicken Taco from Taco Bell can be considered its closest rival to the forthcoming McDonald’s Snack Wrap which includes their McCrispy Strips, first introduced in May.
On July 10, 2025, the McDonald’s Snack Wrap, which had been absent from the menu for some time, will make its comeback. This revamped version of the wrap will offer two distinct flavors: ranch and spicy, to harmonize with their current McCrispy sandwich lineup.
