CinemaCon: Amazon MGM Joins Lineup, Sony Returns for 2025 Edition

As a seasoned movie-goer with decades of cinema experiences under my belt, I am absolutely thrilled about the upcoming CinemaCon! The fact that all major Hollywood studios, including the newcomer Amazon MGM Studios, will be showcasing their upcoming theatrical slates is music to my ears.

For the first time, Amazon MGM Studios will make an appearance on the CinemaCon main stage, during its return to Caesars Palace in Las Vegas from March 31 to April 3. Meanwhile, Sony Pictures has confirmed that they will be back on the main stage at Caesars’ Colosseum, having been absent last year.

With this update, it’s reported that representatives from significant movie production companies such as Lionsgate, Paramount, Universal/Focus Features, The Walt Disney Studios, and Warner Bros., among others, are expected to attend and showcase their upcoming film releases.

Michael O’Leary, head of NATO (National Association of Theatre Owners), expressed his excitement and gratitude at the return of all our studio partners. Moreover, he announced that Amazon MGM Studios will join this year’s CinemaCon event, indicating their commitment to the cinema-going experience.

This impressive collection of top-tier film studios from around the world underscores both the cultural and financial clout of cinema. These studios understand that audiences crave the enchantment they create on the silver screen, and they also recognize that films launched in cinemas tend to perform better than those that don’t. We celebrate their dedication to theater exhibition and eagerly anticipate an incredible week filled with the captivating tales they are set to share with movie enthusiasts throughout the upcoming year.

Back in 2023, I found myself at the grand Colosseum, where Sony graced us with a sneak peek of their upcoming cinematic masterpieces. Among them were “Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse” and Ridley Scott’s epic “Napoleon.” Fast forward to 2025, their theatrical lineup has me absolutely thrilled! First up is “Karate Kid: Legends,” starring none other than Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan, set to premiere on May 30th. Then, on June 20th, I’m eagerly awaiting “28 Years Later,” a film directed by Danny Boyle and written by Alex Garland. Can’t wait!

Amazon MGM’s forthcoming films feature “The Accountant 2,” due for release on April 25th, with Ben Affleck returning to his character alongside other main actors; and the suspenseful movie “Mercy” set to premiere on August 15th, starring Chris Pratt, Rebecca Ferguson, and Annabelle Wallis.

Mitch Neuhauser, the head of CinemaCon, expressed gratitude towards the studios, filmmakers, actors, suppliers, and particularly our NATO member theatre owners. He hinted at some thrilling new developments and alterations for next year’s CinemaCon, and he is eagerly looking forward to welcoming everyone back to Las Vegas.

It was revealed that San Gamble, the head honcho of Cinemark, is set to receive the CinemaCon Marquee Award during this year’s ceremony.
