Halsey to Write Dark Comedy Series ‘Bloodlust’ in Development at Amazon, Ti West to Direct (EXCLUSIVE)

As an ardent admirer of artistic versatility and fearless exploration, I find myself utterly captivated by the news that Halsey is venturing into screenwriting with her upcoming dark comedy TV series on Amazon Prime Video. Ashley Frangipane, or Halsey as we know her, has consistently defied expectations in her musical career, and it’s thrilling to see her add another dimension to her creative arsenal.

Pop artist and lyricist Halsey is expanding her talents by taking on the role of a screenwriter. It’s been revealed exclusively that she is presently working on creating a dark comedy TV series for Amazon Prime Video.

Ashley Frangipane, known professionally as Halsey, is slated to take on the roles of creator, writer, and executive producer for “Bloodlust” on Amazon, but will not appear in the series itself. Ti West has been enlisted to direct and produce the show, while Mark Friedman (“Severance,” “Dispatches From Elsewhere”) joins as executive producer and showrunner. Additionally, Anthony Li, Halsey’s manager, is also an executive producer. Amazon MGM Studios will be responsible for production.

Details about the storyline remain secret. For quite a while, this project has been brewing at Amazon, with Halsey, Li, and Friedman involved, yet specifics were not disclosed until recently.

The upcoming show brings together Halsey and West once more. Notably, West has been involved in the creation of “MaXXXine,” a horror movie serving as the third installment in the “X” film franchise. In this production, Halsey portrays the character Tabby Martin.

Halsey has also acted in various roles outside of music. She made an appearance as herself in the movie “A Star Is Born” and was part of the cast for the television series “Roadies” and the animated series “Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?.” Additionally, she has acted in films such as “Americana,” “Sing 2,” and “Teen Titans Go! To the Movies.” However, it’s her musical career that really sets her apart, with hit studio albums like “Badlands,” “Hopeless Fountain Kingdom,” “Manic,” “If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power,” and her latest release, “The Great Impersonator.

West is responsible for penning and directing the additional movies in the “X” franchise, namely “X” and “Pearl”. He has also taken charge as both writer and director for horror films such as “The House of the Devil”, “Trigger Man”, “The Innkeepers”, and “In the Valley of Violence”.

As a passionate film enthusiast, I’m proud to say that Halsey is represented by both United Talent Agency (UTA) and The Lede Company. Meanwhile, West has an impressive roster of representatives including Creative Artists Agency (CAA), LBI Entertainment, and Lichter Grossman. Lastly, Friedman is also represented by UTA, alongside Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole.
