Henry Cavill Says ‘Warhammer 40,000’ TV Series Is in a ‘Fantastic’ Starting Place: ‘We’ve Been Breaking Down Approaches to the Enormity’ of That World

As a seasoned movie reviewer with a penchant for all things fantasy and sci-fi, I must say, Henry Cavill‘s venture into the Warhammer 40,000 TV show has me more than just a little excited! With his longstanding affection for the franchise dating back to his childhood days, it seems we’re in for a treat as he shepherds this cinematic universe from its inception.

I’m thrilled to share some exciting news about the “Warhammer 40,000” TV series I’m involved with. The project has reached a terrific stage, ready to embark on building our captivating universe.

In December 2022, it became public knowledge that the previous actor of Superman will feature in and serve as an executive producer for a version of a popular tabletop game on Amazon Prime Video. This streaming platform obtained worldwide rights to the intellectual property (IP) from Games Workshop.

To mark some exciting Warhammer updates, I chose to revisit the initial store where I purchased my first Warhammer figures about 30 years back – The Little Shop, on the island where I was born, Jersey! This is what Cavill shared on Instagram along with a monochrome selfie. My team and I, together with the creative minds at Games Workshop, have been busy brainstorming in our design studios, exploring various strategies to capture the grandeur and splendor of the Warhammer universe.

Cavill remarked, “Working together, we’ve been meticulously examining numerous remarkable characters and delving into ancient books and manuscripts. Our collective work has led us to an outstanding starting point for our Universe, which has been approved by those in charge at both Amazon and Games Workshop. For now, this initial location is kept under wraps, but keep an eye out – there’s more exciting information on the way!

As a movie enthusiast, I’d put it this way: “In the distant future, ‘Warhammer 40,000’ paints a picture where humanity is teetering on the brink between our greatest triumph and our most ominous downfall. We face betrayal from within, fueled by unquenchable ambition, external threats from alien empires yearning to reclaim the cosmos, and the twisted manipulation of reality by malevolent deities.

Previously, Cavill expressed his affection for “Warhammer,” dating back to his childhood years. He further stated that being entrusted with the task of nurturing this cinematic world since its beginning feels both privileged and weighty.
