‘Lady Like’ Acquired by Freestyle Digital Media: Doc About ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ Breakout Lady Camden Sets January 2025 Release (EXCLUSIVE)

As I delve deeper into the captivating world of documentary films, “Lady Like” has undeniably caught my heart and ignited my spirit. This film is more than just a story about a drag queen; it’s an inspiring journey of self-discovery, resilience, and the unrelenting pursuit of one’s place in the world.

The documentary titled ‘Lady Like’, focusing on the standout contestant Lady Camden (also known as Rex Wheeler) from ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ Season 14, has been secured for North American distribution by Freestyle Digital Media. The release is scheduled for digital rental and purchase on January 3, 2025, with a DVD version becoming available from January 7, 2025.

Under the direction of Luke Willis, the film “Lady Like” made its debut at the BFI Flare London LGBTQIA+ Film Festival, chosen as the closing night screening in March. Willis and Carter Feuerhelm penned the script, while Willis and Cookie Walukas served as producers. (Paraphrased)

The movie focuses on Lady Camden, a London-born, San Francisco-residing drag queen who gained worldwide recognition through her stint on “Drag Race” in 2022. Alongside Lady Camden, another contestant from “Drag Race,” Nina West, provides narration, and Shiloh Clarke is also highlighted in the documentary.

Over the past few years, observing Lady Camden’s ascent to international acclaim has served as a deeply therapeutic experience for me,” Willis stated. “Lady Camden/Rex’s quest for refuge within the theater is a tale that transcends even queer communities due to its universality – it is a narrative of seeking one’s place in the world. People from all walks of life can relate to feeling like an outsider at some point. It is profoundly moving to see someone summon the bravery to forge ahead and locate where they truly belong, despite the challenges. My wish is that you grow fond of Rex, embrace drag, and above all, discover fortitude and courage to press on in your own quest to find acceptance.

In this arrangement, Freestyle (a part of Allen Media Group) worked out the terms with Glen Reynolds, who represents Circus Road Films.
