Dick’s Sporting Goods Gets Creative With Holiday Marketing Campaign Starring Simone Biles, Chris Paul, Dak Prescott in Decorating Competition

As an avid fan of sports and community initiatives, I must say this holiday campaign by Dick’s Sporting Goods is nothing short of inspiring! The collaboration with Simone Biles, Dak Prescott, Chris Paul, Quinn Ewers, and Matthew McConaughey brings a unique twist to the traditional advertising landscape.

In collaboration with sports stars like Simone Biles, Dak Prescott, Chris Paul, and Quinn Ewers, Dick’s Sporting Goods unveils their holiday marketing initiative. This campaign was developed in conjunction with Bolded, the freshly introduced branded content branch of OBB Media.

As a cinephile, I’ve noticed an innovative twist in brand marketing lately – instead of relying solely on conventional TV ads, brands like Dick’s are coming up with creative strategies to engage consumers.

The decorating contest will air in two formats – 60-second and 30-second TV advertisements, and longer 3-4 minute episodes on Dick’s website (Dicks.com), YouTube, streaming platforms, and social media.

According to Michael D. Ratner, founder and CEO of OBB Media, this campaign offers a fresh and innovative approach for brands to engage with their audience using user-generated content. What sets this approach apart is that Texas customers can physically interact with the designs of their favorite athletes in Dick’s stores after encountering them in the widely distributed content. This 360-degree strategy becomes particularly significant because it allows customers to truly experience and connect with the content on a personal level.

It’s our firm conviction that the top-performing brands nowadays prioritize their communities. That philosophy is clearly reflected in what we do here, as well as across many other projects.

In the course of this initiative, every athlete will be awarded a $100,000 Sports Matter grant to donate to youth sports associations they prefer. The Sports Matter Program by the Dick’s Sporting Goods Foundation aims at empowering underprivileged sports organizations, schools, and community teams by offering chances for young athletes.

As a proud supporter, I’m thrilled to see my hometown heroes adorning Dick’s stores this holiday season! Olympic gold medalist and gymnastics sensation Simone Biles in Houston, Dallas Cowboys’ quarterback Dak Prescott, San Antonio Spurs’ superstar DeMar DeRozan, University of Texas quarterback Casey Ewers with the help of UT alum and football enthusiast Matthew McConaughey, and I myself in Austin – we’re all vying to be crowned Dick’s Holiday Decorating Officer!

Fans in Texas can visit the actual stores sporting the athletes’ decorations.

Kari DeGori, VP of Local Marketing and Marketing Capabilities at Dick’s Sporting Goods, stated that the store displays this season are engaging, fun for taking photos, and each one incorporates sports themes related to holidays. For example, there’s a gingerbread locker room, a basketball game inside a chimney, or an old-fashioned farm basketball hoop. DeGori hopes these displays will bring additional holiday cheer to shoppers as they buy gifts for their loved ones. Furthermore, Dick’s Sporting Goods is excited to collaborate with the Sports Matter program from their Foundation to spread holiday cheer to deserving local sports organizations.

Chris Paul found it thrilling to join this Texas holiday competition alongside top athletes from various sports, as he shared in a statement. The goal may be to win the title of Dick’s Holiday Decorating Officer, but for us all, it’s about more than just that. By participating, we get to make a difference in youth sports. A big thank you goes out to Dick’s Sporting Goods for presenting a $100,000 Sports Matter grant to the Chris Paul Family Foundation.
