Problems with Running and Walking in Stalker 2. How to Fix this Bug

As a seasoned gamer who has weathered countless storms of game releases, I must say, Stalker 2 has been quite the rollercoaster ride. The anticipation, the excitement, and then the unexpected trip to Bugville. It’s like being lost in the Zone itself!

Over the past few days, there’s been plenty of discussion about Stalker 2, including an interactive map and guide. Given its widespread interest, it’s not surprising. However, many conversations revolve around performance issues, as the game is plagued with bugs. We can only hope for patches or find workarounds in the meantime. In this guide, we aim to assist you with a bug that prevents players from running and forces them to walk instead.

How to Fix Running Bug in Stalker 2

The issue we’re discussing here prevents you from running. This can be quite problematic, especially since engaging in fights with mutants may not always be beneficial. First, ensure your load isn’t too heavy or if you haven’t accidentally switched to walking on your device. If everything seems fine there, then it appears to be a bug. Fortunately, fixing it is straightforward.

One efficient method for handling it is by reverting back to the previous save (or the one just prior to the issue arising). As an alternative, you could also try executing a different action such as crouching or moving (walking/running) with a new key combination. These two approaches appear to provide the best results.

I’m crossing my fingers that one of these solutions works for you. Unfortunately, it’s uncertain when the bug will be addressed as GSC Game World studio is currently grappling with numerous issues such as non-functioning HDR, A-Life, Day/night cycle (and other problems). Here’s hoping they manage to resolve them expeditiously.
