Star Wars: Outlaws Launches on Steam. Version 1.4 Removes Stealth Requirement From Almost All Mission Objectives

Update (November 21, 1:40 a.m.)

As a long-time Star Wars fan and an avid gamer who has spent countless hours sneaking past enemies in various games, I can’t help but feel a wave of relief and excitement with the upcoming changes in Star Wars: Outlaws. The forced stealth sections have always been a bit of a frustration for me, often leading to repeated failures and wasted time. But with the confirmation that update 1.4 will give us more freedom by eliminating this requirement from “almost all” missions, I’m looking forward to diving back into the game without the constant fear of being caught.

The update version 1.4 for “Star Wars: Outlaws” has just been released! For all the details about this new patch, please visit the game’s official site. Simultaneously, Ubisoft introduced a tool to report any bugs you might encounter during gameplay.

The update is 7.44 GB on PS5, 10.18 GB on XSX/S, and 8.83 GB on PC.

Original news (November 21, 11:58 p.m.)

According to earlier reports, Star Wars: Outlaws is set to debut on Steam today at 10:00 a.m. This release will be accompanied by the first narrative expansion – Wild Card – and the 1.4 update, which promises substantial modifications. The creators have now revealed the upcoming series of updates, and when they go live, they’ll share a video demonstrating all the new functionalities, enhancements, and bug fixes.

End of the requirement to sneak around

In the game, players have frequently complained about the stealth sections that require them to silently take out opponents. If they fail, they must replay the entire level. However, the creative director of Star Wars: Outlaws, Drew Rechner, acknowledges this can be frustrating. He also disclosed that update 1.4 will eliminate this requirement in “almost all” missions, allowing players more freedom to play as they wish.

In certain situations, sneaking might still be a possible or even advantageous choice. However, if you get caught while sneaking, it won’t cause the mission to fail and make you return to the previous save point. Instead, you’ll smoothly move into a fighting scenario.

These aren’t all the changes announced by Rechner. Version 1.4 will also introduce:

  1. the ability to fight in Syndicate districts – previously we could only sneak there;
  2. significantly longer storage of weapons found in the field, with a wider range of possibilities for their use in various situations;
  3. weak points of enemies – hitting them will cause more damage.

Is it sufficient that ‘Outlaws has been played by millions over numerous years’, and indeed, these alterations seem promising as they enhance gameplay flexibility.

Notably, the Steam version of “Star Wars: Outlaws” employs Denuvo security and necessitates a Ubisoft account for access. As of now, the price remains undisclosed; however, in anticipation of Assassin’s Creed: Mirage’s launch on Valve, a 50% discount has been planned. It’s possible that a smaller or larger discount may be offered during this release.
