Similar to other characters like Captain America (Steve Rogers), The Winter Soldier (Bucky Barnes), Psylocke, and Moon Knight, Hawkeye will be accessible and free to play for everyone who starts playing the game on its release date.
In just a few days after unveiling the character, the developer has put the spotlight on “The Unmatched Sharpshooter” as part of their global countdown leading up to its release for consoles and PCs on December 6th, 2024. This means Hawkeye takes center stage in today’s news, offering players a sneak peek at the new Imperial Protocol cosmetic skins lineup. The character is among the initial few recipients of skins from this series.
There’s been a lot of buzz surrounding the official Marvel Rivals social media platforms as the global release draws near in December. A large part of the excitement is due to recent character announcements, unveiling new maps, and the reveal of cosmetic skins for every launch character, such as Hawkeye.

In the game, Hawkeye is among the initial characters granted an Imperial Protocol. A IGN interview disclosed that Black Panther, Captain America, and Mantis will also get skins from this series, which was previously unveiled online. The Galactic Fangs skin for Hawkeye, a highly anticipated item, will be accessible at launch during Season 0, Doom’s Rise. This skin is tied to the season’s storyline.
Based on what Jinghua, Marvel Rivals’ narrative designer, shared in an IGN interview, the Imperial Protocol cosmetic skin collection is essentially the seasonal story skins for Season 0. This series of skins is inspired by the idea of “Afrofuturism,” a blend of ancient African tribal elements with advanced, interstellar technology from the future. Since it’s been confirmed that the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda will be a new location in Marvel Rivals at launch, characters who are crucial to Season 0’s storyline will all receive skins themed around this concept. The interview also hinted that popular characters like Rocket Raccoon, Groot, and Star-Lord will get an Imperial Protocol cosmetic skin, with more details on how to obtain them being revealed closer to the game’s launch.
