Nightingale's Hunt Bug in Stalker 2. Finding and Selling Collar Problem Explained

As a seasoned Stalker, I have traversed the perilous wastelands of the Zone more times than I care to remember, and the latest addition to this desolate world, STALKER 2, has not disappointed. The game’s open-world environment is a testament to the developers’ dedication to creating an immersive experience that challenges even the hardiest of gamers.

Exploring the vast expanse of STALKER 2’s open-world gameplay comes with its own set of challenges, even within multiplayer settings. The Zone is teeming with as much peril as it is with tasks, and you’ll often find yourself being asked to perform favors for various individuals. Many side quests, like Nightingale’s Hunt, can help you accumulate wealth faster and delve deeper into the backstories of secondary characters. However, these quests, such as the one involving the mutant dog’s collar, may pose issues due to bugs. In this article, we’ll discuss the hurdles in locating the mutt’s collar.

STALKER 2 – Why you can’t Find Collar in Nightingale’s Hunt Quest

In the game Zalissya, Nightingale is a non-player character who presents the side mission titled “Nightingale’s Hunt“. At present, though it can be finished, the process isn’t straightforward due to an issue or bug that surfaces during the second phase of the quest. This problem revolves around locating the collar of a mutant dog. After eliminating dogs at the Old Mill location and finding the initial collar, you are tasked with discovering another one close to Arch Anomaly named Bulba. For additional details about this area, consult our Stalker 2 guide.

The Bulba is an extraordinary phenomenon that seems to ‘inhale’. It’s a massive bubble, and whenever it takes a breath, it sucks in everything within its reach. If something living gets too near, it will perish, so caution is advised and hiding behind wrecked vehicles would be prudent. During its exhalation, you have approximately 2 seconds to move about freely.

Your task here is to locate the collar close by this peculiarity. However, there’s a hitch: when your scanner activates and alerts you to the presence of the mutant dog wearing the collar, the effects of the anomaly might cause the dog to float or hide in an area that’s hard to reach. Some people have reported that the dog may even become invisible in this particular spot, making it difficult to retrieve the quest item.

Fortunately, the task can be completed. After some time (you can sleep to speed it up), the objective of the dead dog is invalidated and a new one appears to help Nightingtale. He will call you to say that he needs help. A new mission marker will appear on your map. There, as a result of certain events, you will acquire two more collars. Afterwards, you can go to the Hamster in Zalissya and tell him that you have collars for sale. Even though you will have three items in your inventory, the dialogue option shows that you can give him four and you will complete the quest. Even so, the Journal objective will not be ‘done’, but the mission will.

STALKER 2- Why you can’t sell collars to Hamster

It seems some individuals find it confusing as they cannot sell collars to a Hamster. Here’s the explanation: Before the Hamster can receive such items, you must first assist Nightingale. The option to engage in this dialog won’t appear until then. In other words, complete the mission first to earn your reward.
