As a lifelong movie enthusiast who grew up devouring every imaginative tale that graced my local library’s shelves, I can hardly contain my excitement over the upcoming animated adaptation of “Beast Quest.” This series has been a staple for countless young readers across the globe, and to see its fantastical world brought to life in animation is nothing short of exhilarating.
The renowned global IP company, Superprod Group, and the influential international media group and rights holder, Coolabi Group, are joining forces to create and bring to life an animated show, inspired by the popular children’s high fantasy book series “Beast Quest.
Few intellectual properties similar to “Beast Quest” remain untouched for a game, movie, or TV show, given its widespread use in various forms of media production. This series boasts an impressive collection of 180 titles that have collectively sold over 25 million copies and been translated into 30 different languages. “Beast Quest” enjoys immense popularity across numerous European nations such as the U.K., France, Germany, and even in Japan. In 2023, its anonymous author, Adam Blade, ranked 7th among all authors and genres in the United Kingdom’s library lending charts.
Following the spirit of the original tales, I’ll be part of the team bringing the story of heroes Tom and Elenna to life in our animated series. Their mission is to safeguard the Kingdom of Avantia against the malevolent sorcerer, Malvel.
Superprod is dedicating a lot of resources for both development and production towards this animated series, which will be created exclusively at our subsidiary studios such as Wheel in Motion in the UK, The Coproduction Company in the US, Red Monk Studio in Italy, Melusine in Luxembourg, and Superprod Animation in France.
The upcoming series of 26 half-hour episodes will employ Computer-Generated (CG) and blended animation methods, crafting a unique visual style tailored exclusively for this intellectual property. Once completed, the series will be disseminated globally by Superights, the international distribution arm of the Superprod Group.
As a cinephile deeply invested in Wheel in Motion, I can’t help but feel thrilled about ‘Beast Quest’. This iconic brand, brimming with untapped storytelling prowess, is a momentous step forward for us. Its pulse-pounding narrative and intricate world of fantastical creatures have the power to captivate an upcoming generation, much like it has enchanted readers for almost two decades.
Jeremy Banks, The Coolabi Group’s CEO, expressed his delight about one of their most popular and adored book brands being animated by Superprod. Originating from our in-house story team at Working Partners and cherished throughout every book published, ‘Beast Quest’ is a publishing sensation that continues to captivate children just as much now as it did when it was first introduced about two decades ago. We eagerly anticipate bringing the series to screens and devices globally.
