Silent Hill 2 Remake Photo Puzzle Has A Surprising Message For Players

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I must say the remake of Silent Hill 2 by Konami and Bloober Team has been a rollercoaster ride down memory lane. The enigmatic photographs scattered throughout the game were a delightful challenge that brought back memories of solving puzzles in old-school games.

Approximately four weeks ago, Konami in collaboration with developer Bloober Team unveiled a reimagining of the original 2001 survival-horror hit, Silent Hill 2. One of the innovative aspects added by Bloober Team were mysterious photographs scattered throughout the remake. Recently, a gamer has revealed the answer to this photo enigma, and it’s a tribute to the game’s past events.

Dale Robinson shared his discoveries on Reddit, making him apparently the initial player to crack the code. Within the game, there are 26 images hidden, each accompanied by a brief phrase like “So many people here.” Upon closer inspection, Robinson deduced that the visual hint for the secret message was the count of specific objects in each snapshot.

Following the tally and recognition of specific items, Robinson marked the matching symbol in each communication. Arrange these symbols in their time sequence, and the player’s encoded message becomes: “You’ve been present for twenty years.

In a post on platform X, Robinson expressed his disappointment: “I believed I was going to receive something exciting, yet the game made me realize I’m no longer young.” This sentiment was later validated by Mateusz Lenart, the creative director of Bloober Team.

It’s no surprise that the secret wouldn’t last! (There had been speculation in our office that the puzzle would prove too challenging 😄) I went to great lengths to make the hints subtle while painting those images…
