Dandadan hides surprise pop star Easter egg in opening credits

As a long-time anime enthusiast with a soft spot for unique and humorous storylines, I can confidently say that Dandadan has become one of my favorite shows this year. The blend of supernatural beliefs, witty dialogues, and the chemistry between Momo Ayase and Takakura is simply captivating.

In a surprising twist for fans, the anime series “Dandadan” has become a sensation, yet some viewers may have overlooked the opening sequence’s hidden Easter egg—a well-known pop star makes an appearance!

The Dandadan anime is currently ongoing as each episode brings about a bunch of surprises. The eccentric story, expressive animation, and lovable characters have had fans hooked from the first episode.

Beginning in October 2024, this anime made its television debut, and it quickly gained popularity due to its impressive first season, which featured a total of 12 episodes. The groundbreaking production was handled by Science SARU, and it has already become one of the most successful series of 2024.

The plot revolves around Momo Ayase and her classmate Takakura. While Momo believes in spirits, Takakura, an occult cynic, believes that aliens exist. To prove themselves correct, they place a bet, which results in a series of hilarious incidents.

In the catchy tune of Dandadan’s introductory melody, performed by Creepy Nuts, there are some intriguing visuals. One quick clip showcases Momo dancing, but this dance move subtly echoes a scene from one of Rihanna’s earlier music videos.

The video excerpt is taken from the popular 2012 track “Where Have You Been” by Rihanna, which served as the fifth single from her album titled “Talk That Talk.” This song achieved tremendous success worldwide and was honored with the accolade for Best Dance Performance at the Soul Train Music Awards.

Fans were smitten with the opening, but when they discovered this reference, their affection grew even stronger. One fan exclaimed on X/Twitter, “What a fantastic blend! The spirit of Momo combined with Rihanna’s style creates an unbeatable duo!

Another fan raved about the collaboration between Momo from Dandadan and Rihanna, stating that their unique styles together are electrifying! I’m eagerly anticipating the masterpieces they will produce.

A third person pointed out, “What an interesting tidbit! I didn’t realize it was Rihanna; I only saw Jiji and Ken doing the Carlton dance.
